1.
It's easy to see that the oceans of your eyes Run deeper than the seas themselves, no matter how they rise. But I can tell it's difficult with all that ebb and flow; Sometimes you have to let things go to let them grow. And when the night falls and the stars shine up above You can't see through the distance, don't know where to look for love. Time always moves slowly when you want it to move fast. But the morning sun will shine at last. Oh~ Yeah the morning sun will shine at last.
2.
You want You want things for yourself and not for others, But superfluity just leads to clutter. When want becomes a need And you get bored At least it’s yours. So hold on, Hold on to the keys of your seclusion. Ownership is nothing but illusion. There’s only one conclusion, Must be yours! Oh yes, it’s yours. So buy a new phone, all the apps, Your old one’s fine, but you fell for the traps. You need a big screen television: HD, Plasma; it’s your decision! Thirteen closets full of clothes You just can’t bear to let them go tonight. So you hold on for your life because they're yours. You need, You need it new even if old’s not broken. It all just piles up until you’re chokin’. Even when you can’t breathe, It’s still yours. Look at all that’s yours! You live, You live just to possess; it’s your vocation. But somehow you’ve lost all appreciation. Now it’s all just shit that’s on the floor, But oh at least it’s yours. So buy that fancy diamond necklace. Spend it all, go ahead; be reckless! Overflowing sheds of tools, And dishes that you never use Twenty cars that sit and rot, At least you fill your parking lot tonight. More is always right long as it's yours. Plates of food you throw away, It's something you do every day. Little trinkets, tons of toys, We’ll teach our little girls and boys To need what you want, submit to greed, You can live the American dream, And you'll be freed 'Cause it’s yours Yes, oh yes, it's yours! Thirteen closets full of clothes You just can't bear to let them go tonight.
3.
We all grow up with blank slates of morals and how to live. We’re taught to share, to be respectful and how to give Our lives away, our lives away. We’re taught to treat others the same way we want to be. But there’s a hidden trap preventing others from being quite so free, It’s hard to see the blame’s on me. There is so much arrogance implied In a rule that tells us to only look inside, So why should I be so bold As to follow this rule made of fool’s gold? It’s easy to get lost in the fog of our ideals, And objectivity won’t tell us how it feels To be someone else, be someone else. It’s easy to think that we know best for ones we love, Or sometimes we find guidance from an entity from up above And push comes to shove when they disapprove. There is so much arrogance implied In a rule that tells us to only look inside, So why should I be so bold As to follow this rule made of fool’s gold?
4.
When I look into your eyes my stomach fills with fireflies Who flutter 'round and light up my soul. And whenever you talk I see your voice start surrounding me In beautiful I never thought I'd know. But every time I wake up from this dream I see there's no room for me, 'Cause it's not hard to see There's someone else in your eyes. Sometimes I'm a-wonderin' What you are a-ponderin' About me if you do it at all. Do you like my poetry? Good looks or personality? Mellifluous voice, musical? Or am I just another friend Who could never be more than a bro? It's not too hard to know There's someone else in your eyes. I guess it's no surprise There's someone else in your eyes. I didn't wanna tell you 'cause I didn't want you to become A little more standoffish you see. Thinkin' I'm a creepy guy 'Cause I like being by your side But that's not the case, you can trust me I just enjoy the time we've had All the joy and the laughter we've shared I just can't compare There's someone else in your eyes. I guess it's no surprise There's someone else in your eyes. I didn't want to tell you That you are more beautiful to me Than a golden autumn breeze at sunset Whisking the rainbow leaves and making them sparkle and dance in the sky Up with the silver lining clouds That are reflected in your eyes. But I guess I just did. Oops. I really love your honesty Appreciate you're open with me You really are a great friend. But I don't want to jeopardize The trust you have with surprise I don't want our friendship to end. I just can't hold it anymore I've got to let you know how I feel inside. 'Cause I'm the kind of guy who feels That if I've held something from you then I've lied. I don't expect reciprocation I just wanted to remove this disguise. Even though it's true. There's nothing I can do. 'Cause I know that you have someone else in your eyes. Should come as no surprise, Wish it was me in those eyes. There's someone else in your eyes
5.
"Nothing" is a hyperbolic word. But this hyperbole is absurd. To say that "nothing's happening," Well I'm still grappling with what's unraveling. And you have always looked me in the eyes When you spoon fed me those lies, You took advantage of the way I always loved and put my faith in something good I misunderstood. I've tried to wrap my head around your ways, Guess that's the reason why I stayed Feel like I tolerated feeling obligated, Now I just feel baited. You think it's easy to just disengage, But you can't just walk off this stage And say "the scene is done, so hey, now you're the one I wanted all along, you see." Well now I see. Your eyes have hidden lies, But somehow that comes as no surprise. I wasn't there when you fantasized. Two wrongs don't make a right, But somehow I still feel justified, You weren't the one who was victimized. I guess you never really closed that door, Because I know we've been here before. I really tried to trust you, tried to readjust to what you said you must do. And I know there's a thrill in being bad, But now you've lost all that you had. And was it really worth the temporary mirth Oh no, I know you're hurt, you see. I know you see. Your eyes have hidden lies, But somehow that comes as no surprise. I was never there when you fantasized. Two wrongs never make a right, But somehow I still feel justified, You weren't the one who was victimized. Time and time again, I gave you chances, You assured me then they were just glances, I believed when you apologized. You say I'm the one being dramatic, I can tell that you're being erratic. How can you think I won't realize. Your eyes have hidden lies, But somehow that comes as no surprise. I wasn't there when you fantasized. Two wrongs never make a right, But somehow I still feel justified, You weren't the one who was victimized. Your eyes have hidden lies, But somehow that comes as no surprise. I was never there when you fantasized. Two wrongs never make a right, But somehow I still feel justified, You weren't the one who was victimized.
